This bar goes way back—like, centuries back. Olive oil soap has been a pillar of Levantine self-care for generations, prized for its simplicity, purity, and skin-loving properties.
Ours is handmade by a women-led cooperative in the village of Hsarat in the Byblos district of Lebanon. Using just three ingredients—olive oil, water, and lye—this bar is cold-processed the traditional way, then cured to perfection.
Rich in antioxidants and gentle on the skin, this all-natural bar is ideal for daily cleansing, even for sensitive skin. But don’t stop there — it’s also a natural, biodegradable option for hand-washing your clothes or even as a household detergent.
Ingredients
Olive oil, water, lye. (Note, our soap contains no synthetic additives. Lye is used in the process of saponification and is no longer present in the final product).
Origin
A village named Hsarat in the Byblos District of the Keserwan-Jbeil.
Storage Instructions
Store in a dry place away from direct water streams to keep your soap at its best.
